Terms of Service

Last updated: April 3, 2026

1. Service description

Vocii is an Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) application that helps non-verbal individuals communicate using customizable boards, symbols, and synthesized voices. The service consists of mobile, desktop, and web applications, along with the servers we operate to sync data between a user’s devices.

By creating an account or using Vocii, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (the “Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create a Vocii account. AAC users under the age of 13 must be supported by a parent, legal guardian, or authorized educational representative who creates and manages the account on their behalf and provides any required parental consent.

By creating an account, you represent that the information you provide is accurate and that you have the legal authority to enter into these Terms.

3. Account responsibilities

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must promptly notify us of any unauthorized use of your account at security@vocii.app.
  • You must keep your contact information (in particular, your email address) current so that we can reach you about important account and security notices.

4. Prohibited uses

You agree not to use Vocii to:

  • Violate any law or the rights of others.
  • Upload, store, or transmit content that is unlawful, infringing, harassing, abusive, or harmful to children.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to Vocii systems or to other users’ accounts.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of Vocii except where expressly permitted by law.
  • Use Vocii to build a competing product, train machine learning models, or scrape data at scale.
  • Interfere with the operation of the service, including by distributing malware or sending excessive automated requests.

5. Subscriptions and billing

Some Vocii features require a paid subscription. All payments are processed by our merchant of record, LemonSqueezy, who is responsible for collecting and remitting any applicable taxes. By subscribing, you also agree to LemonSqueezy’s terms of service.

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled in advance through your account settings or billing portal. Prices may change with at least 30 days’ notice; renewals after the notice period are at the new price.

6. Refunds

Individual and family subscriptions are covered by a 14-day money-back guarantee. If you are not satisfied for any reason, contact support@vocii.app within 14 days of your initial purchase for a full refund.

School, district, and enterprise contracts are governed by the refund terms specified in the applicable purchase order or master agreement.

7. Intellectual property

Vocii and all related software, designs, trademarks, and content (other than your data and any third-party content noted below) are owned by Vocii and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Vocii in accordance with these Terms.

You own your data. All communication boards, custom images, voice recordings, and student profile data you create or upload remain yours. You grant Vocii a limited license to host, store, and process this content solely to provide the service to you.

Vocii includes pictographic symbols from the ARASAAC collection, which are licensed under Creative Commons BY-NC-SA 4.0. Use of those symbols is subject to the ARASAAC license terms; commercial redistribution of the symbols is not permitted.

8. DMCA / copyright complaints

10. Limitation of liability

You may stop using Vocii and delete your account at any time from within the app. We may suspend or terminate your access to Vocii if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if your continued use poses a risk to other users or the service. Where reasonable, we will give you notice and an opportunity to cure the breach.

Upon termination, your data will be retained and then deleted according to our Privacy Policy.
